Why choose a torch lighter?

A torch lighter is designed for situations where a concentrated flame can make lighting easier and more precise. It can be useful for lighting a fireplace or fire pit, starting a BBQ chimney, or lighting candles and lanterns with greater control.

Torch-style products can also be useful for certain household and hobby tasks where a stronger heat source is required, including heating, melting and thawing.

The Zippo Butane Torch features an adjustable yellow or blue flame and a child-safe handheld igniter, making it a practical option when you need a focused heat source.

Torch inserts or a standalone butane torch?

If you already have a regular Zippo lighter case and want to change the flame style, a Zippo butane insert offers a straightforward option. Zippo offers Single Torch and Double Torch butane inserts, both producing a bright blue flame with push-button piezo ignition.

The inserts are designed to fit regular Zippo lighter cases. They are not compatible with Slim, 1935 Replica or Armor® cases, so it is important to check compatibility before choosing an insert.

For household and hobby tasks, a standalone butane torch provides a separate torch solution. The Zippo Butane Torch has an adjustable yellow or blue flame and high heat output for practical applications such as lighting, soldering, heating, melting and thawing.

Single and double torch options

Zippo torch inserts are available with either a single or double flame, allowing you to choose the setup that suits your needs.

Single torch insert

The Zippo Single Torch Butane Lighter Insert produces a single bright blue flame with adjustable flame height and a refillable butane fuel capacity. It is designed to fit regular Zippo lighter cases and retains the familiar Zippo “click” sound.

The Single Torch Butane Lighter Insert is backed by a two-year Zippo warranty. A black-finish version is also available, offering the same torch-style approach in a different finish.

Double torch insert

The Double Torch Butane Lighter Insert produces two bright blue flames and uses the same push-button ignition approach. It also has a refillable butane gas capacity.

A double torch can be a suitable choice when you want greater flame output from your Zippo case setup, including when lighting outdoors or when you prefer a stronger torch effect.

Refillable butane and fuel

Using the right fuel is an important part of maintaining torch performance. Zippo torch inserts are refillable with butane and recommend Zippo butane for optimum performance. The standalone Butane Torch also uses Zippo butane gas.

Find the right torch setup

Torch inserts are sold separately from the lighter case. They are therefore a practical option if you already own a regular Zippo lighter case and want a torch-style flame.
